• How do you remove solvent under reduced pressure?

  • Usually you could choose rotary evaporator
    or wiped film evaporator to remove solvent, do how do you remove solvent under reduced pressure?


    1. Concentrated under reduced pressure: remove the solvent and keep what you want. Distilled under reduced pressure: Evaporate what you want. Rotary evaporator
    is an economical method to remove solvent, you could choose 1~100L volume according to your request, matched with vacuum pump & chiller.


    2. When you use rotary evaporator
    to do solvent remove under reduced pressure, first draw a small vacuum (about 0.03MPa), and then open and rotate to prevent the evaporation flask from slipping. When stopping,please wait until the vacuum drops to about 0.04MPa before stopping the vacuum pump. To prevent the evaporation flask from falling off and sucking back.


    3. Each interface, sealing surface, sealing ring and joint of your rotary evaporation
    equipment need to be coated with a layer of vacuum grease before installation.


    4. Water must be added to the heating bath of rota evaporator
    before power is applied.


    5. If the viscosity of your sample is very large, the rotation speed should be slowed down and manually rotated slowly to form a new liquid surface to facilitate solvent evaporation
    .


    6. When your sample is sensitive to air, a nitrogen balloon could be connected to the exhaust port. First, a burst of nitrogen is passed to exhaust the air in the rotary evaporator
    , and then a sample bottle is connected to rotary steam. After steaming, release nitrogen to increase the pressure, then turn off the pump, and then remove the sample bottle and seal it.
